This beat, called a stop in the language of tennis, is about placing the shuttle as close to the net as possible. The badminton racket drop is one of the most demanding badminton strokes and requires a high degree of fine coordination. In a „slow drop“ the ball is played very close behind the net. With a fast drop (cut drop), the shuttle is transported at high speed over the net, so that the opponent has only little time to react to the blow. In contrast to the slow drop, the shuttle has a relatively straight flight curve for this beat.
